About Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust
Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust (CRAMT) is a not-for-profit organization based in Township, Lahore, and was established in 1976 under the Trust Act of 1882. The Trust is committed to providing quality healthcare, education, and religious studies to the poor and underprivileged groups within our society. The Trust was founded in the revered memory of Chaudhry Rahmat Ali, an eminent leader of the Pakistan Movement, who envisioned the name “Pakistan” for our country.
CRAMT was founded by the late Prof. Dr. S. M. K. Wasti and a group of his colleagues, social entrepreneurs. Prof. Wasti was a pediatrician by profession and, therefore, due to his dedication to providing maternal, child, and family health services in Pakistan, he has been referred to as the “Father of Pediatrics” in Pakistan.

The Ch. Rahmat Ali Memorial Trust is legally registered and meets the requirements of the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC), the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and other government regulatory authorities.
- Under Section 2(36) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001, all gifts to the Trust are tax-deductible, thereby providing donors with legal and financial transparency.
- Besides, the Trust is Shariah-compliant, and its financial practices are supervised and validated by a Shariah Advisory Entity authorized by the Government, ensuring it follows Islamic principles in full.
- To maintain the highest levels of accountability and good governance, all donations and funds are processed through a well-organized, transparent financial system, with annual audits conducted by one of the 15 top audit firms in Pakistan.
